program the uC it will affect the LEDs that are attached to P3.0 and P3.1 (RXD and TXD)
If you are driving the LEDs directly from the port pins you will be in trouble, it could have been ok if it were a few LEDs, but driving 32 LEDs will exceed the maximum combined port sink (look it up, I believe 32mA).

If ypu are not and the other connection to the Rxd/Txd pins is a logical input you will be fine.
