1m cable between microcontroller and LCD & Keypad module?????

This will not work reliably! Have a look at actual datasheet of LCD. Very probably you will find specification of max rise time and max fall time of enable signal to be smaller than 25nsec. You will also find information, that this specification will be violated in the case of cables longer than 10cm!
So, take the measures needed with long cables given there.
