If your talking about the convertion we made from a PLC based machine to a uC based Machine. The answer is yes.

Initially we had a few problems, but once those problems were fixed; there was no looking back. These machines run 24 hours a day in open space.

I dont have the data as to how much savings were made, But will try to arrange.

If you were talking about the PLC we designed, then letmme tell you that it was a project done for my Diploma. If you need more information on it, please let me know. I'll upload the project report on the net.

One problem what we faced during the replacement of the PLC with a uC card was the never ending changes made in the specs. Also note that its a bit tough to add any additional features if its not planned properly. Hardware changes are very expensive.
