#71807 - RE: No Idea?!
Responding to: ???'s previous message
...but the issue here isn't whether or not people are unfriendly to newbies. The issue is whether or not people are willing to do other people's work.

Hallo Craig,

some days ago you wrote:

I would like to ask everyone to please stop flaming, posting off-topic posts, and insulting others. If someone is asking for code, IGNORE THEM, don't insult them. If you think a question is too simple to warrant a reply, then don't reply. If you think something is homework and someone is asking you the forum members to do it and the moderators haven't closed the thread, report it to the moderators--don't reply to the message and accuse the person of asking you to do their homework.

Simply ignore those posts that do not merit a reply, PLEASE!

Very wise words! Which are not respected by some members, though. Am I the only one who is disgusted by replies, which even reach a sadistic level, some times? Is it necessary to humiliate a newbie, only because he didn't make his post in the wanted way?

Do you like to have expressions in your forum like: 'May be we should review your class notes?' Only because orginal poster hasn't found the right words or followed the right procedure?

I'm not amused about this original thread above, either. But is it necessary to have this aggressive reaction? I can tell you, that this permanent level of aggression and arrogance is highly demotivating me in spending my costly time and energy to formulate replies.

Kai
