#7271 - RE: ADuC812 Development tools |
Well, aka j, its an analog world.
And digital is just a special case. Accuracy and reliability have nothing to do with if the system is designed as analog or digital, and everthing to do with the care taken in its implementation. I agree with Steve Taylor on the need for an emulator - its programmer pablum. Now that we have flash Ucontrollers, the compile edit download debug cycle is as short as with a emulator/develoment system (ICE). All the scary stuff I've caught with an emulator could have been found with a scope or test code. (We are talking about code for an 8 bit microcontroller, not writing a BIOS for a pentium III chipset). I'll go further, an emulator can add unnecessary delays to a project, learning and setting it up, staring at screens of hex dumps and stack traces, as opposed to a thorough desk check of the code. For 99 bucks, the ADuc812 eval kit is a heck of a deal, hardware, simulator, assembler, debugger, downloder and lots of examples in asm and c. Randy Randy |
