------------------------------- Why are so many people still using analog to digital voltage level conversion? Are the shortcomings not obvious or it accuracy and reliability not being designed into many systems? Randy Dawson wrote: ------------------------------- Well, aka j, its an analog world. And digital is just a special case. Accuracy and reliability have nothing to do with if the system is designed as analog or digital... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Actually Randy, you missed the point. You don't encode information upon voltage level if those levels are polluted by digital switching circuits affecting the power voltage inputs. The best you can do is patch those power busses, attempt to isolate them and blindly accept the transient affects upon your readings. You can get away with that for mundane systems wherein no one bothers to calculate or consider their system accuracy affected by circuitry, environment and algorithms. Too advanced for this forum perhaps? I won't reveal our solution but I mention it to see if anyone else understands and does this. ;) aka j |
