#74204 - RE: Snub diode
Responding to: ???'s previous message
In my case the 2n2222a is substituted for a higher output BU807. The Led of course is substituted for a coil, R1 is 10ohms and the input is from a 2n2222a not the mcu output. VLoad is also VCC in my case.

James,

I do not have any idea about what you are doing there!
If you want to drive an ignition coil, you need e.g. a high voltage, hig current Darlington, with special zener snubber across collector base junction and filter capacitors from collector to base and collector to ground. According to the high current that must be sinked, some more transistor stages are necessary to drive the Darlington. So, what you try to do with your single transistor stage is absolutely unsuited to make an ignition coil to spark.

Maybe your actual circuit differs from what you published. But it's no joy at all, to see a circuit and read comments which does not seem to belong to the seen circuit...
