#74319 - this is not the question Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The subject here is "development kit". The fact that I stated the true fact "development tools for the '51 only come in Windows versions" was not an invitation for someone to blow his horn about Linux.
I do not care one hoot about how wunnerful Linux is, I am not going to use it till it becomes the standard and professional tools are made for it. This has nothing to do with how good or bad Linux is, just the fact that quality tools are available for Windows, not for Linux. You can bend fold and mutilate anything, but I trust more a Windows application running under Windows than the same running under a "Windows emulator" which is, I believe, what "Wine" is. Anyhow, again I am not discussing Windows vs Linux but the availability of tools. Also, I am correcting blatantly false statements such as "write a good makefile that does the compilation and upload for you, using it is way more comfortable than any windows tool". I have written many makefiles under Windows and they are, indeed, "very comfortable". End of stement(s) on Windows being more useful (Bartosz I did NOT say better) than Linux. Erik |
