#7557 - Capital Punishment: Capacitor Purchasing |
Anyone know a good switching power supply input reservoir capacitor source with the following characteristics:
1: Aluminum Electrolytic. 2: 63V rated min, 80 to 470 uF range. 3: high ripple current at ~120hz and +85C . 4: -40C to +85C thermal operating range. 5: SMT or short radial package; maybe axial. 6: Minimum PCB space consumed. 7: Distributor availability. This is an odd niche part, fulfilling all requirements are so far rather elusive. I have a 12.5mm height (1/2 inch) limitation that I might extend. Due to the handling and vibration my products get aboard aircraft, I do like using radial caps bent onto their sides (saves space but requires more potting). I need a total ripple current of around 1200 to 1400ma so the solution likely requires 4 or 3 caps in parallel. aka j |
