Thanks for posting Michael and Donald.

I suspected I shouldn't initialize stack on my own, at least not for my programs.

Though the outputs are connected to NANDed LEDs , I verified pin activity (or the lack of!) using an oscilloscope.

Since I am so unsucessful with Keil/C I think I may be buying the "C and the 8051" book off of eBay in order to take another shot at it!
