Hi again and thanks to everyone's attempts to help.

I will approach this the following way:

1-Read links posted in earlier reply by poster
2-Reread Keil C compiler User's Guide/programming notes
3-(Soon) should have my own EPROM programmer to avoid using this board with 8051 bootloader. Kai may be right, might be hardware problem-I can't currently verify loaded code EEPROM values with bootloader. (!!)
4-Try using another compiler with identical program files.

Thanks again, and yes I suspect it's something small that's holding me back. Very "exhausting" learning experience.
