Still, for a small, handy "PC pad" with a multitasking OS, GUI and office-style apps, a "single chip computer" would be a nicer choice than multi-IC architecture, and IO speed has little to do with it.

I did NOT suggest multi '51 architectures for "small, handy" applications, I suggested that in lieu of multitasking for applications where the '51 isrequired for other reasons.

I do not give a hoot that it is possible to multitask on a '51, it also possible to get from New York to Los Angeles on a bicycle.

What I am saying is nothing but "use the right chip for the purpose".

Ever so often we see someone trying to make a processor that they like or happen to have, do things it was never intended for. I had a request for double float routines for the '51 which, of course, could be done, but does that make the '51 the right choice for such an application?

We are totally losing track of the original item because you keep dreaming up other applications which do not require multitasking and suggest a '51 for them in a thread about multitasking

Before you start a project choose the right processor for it, be it a '51 or something else.
