Right now you have an old boys network that votes for each other to make each other look good and they gang up on new members or members who disagree with them and usually cast votes to give negative karma. Exactly and thats because of the limit of 6 months association with the forum. Michael Karas suggested: I think that a new user (or any user for that matter) that creates an original new thread could be given the opportunity to score within their thread without the 6 month limitation. Thats is a good suggestion I agree with. I have seen too many good posts which deserve a +ve score but did not get any. If new users are allowed to score within their own thread, the deserving posts can get +ve karma from new users as well. I personally feel that there should not be more than one negative score for any post/thread i.e. if someone has given a negative vote to a post/thread, then further negative votes should not be allowed. Too many negatives to a thread/post discourages the poster. |
