#77574 - RE: Interfacing a parallel port Responding to: ???'s previous message |
You are perfectly right with what you assume from my posting.
Maybe it makes it simplerto say that I don't want to emulate a whole lpt port, I just want to output the 8 datalines (and a gnd connection of course) Speed is also not too big. The stepper motors work best at a stepping frequency of 1000 Hertz, so thats not so very fast I asume. I use a 11.0592Crystal to have nice baudrates so I suppose this is more than fast enough to be able to generate 1000 pulses a second (I think that a million pulses would even be possible) One more question. Why do you BUFFER this ? Does this have an advantage ? I will use an AT89C2051 so this can give 20mA (I suppose thats enough for parallell port TTL signals) and the stepper motor card is connected to the signalsource (in this case the mcu) with an optocoupler card in between. |
