#77577 - RE: Interfacing a parallel port Responding to: ???'s previous message |
hi,
I'm looking to add a parallel output port similar to a PC LPT port As I only need to output the 8 datalines and no other centronix signals... For me it seems like you said ooposite things. Either you try to implement simple 8-bit one-direction data bus or you are designing complex LPT-interface. In first case, your project has nothing with PC LPT port. In second case it requires to be compatible with LPT specifications (SPP, EPP, ECP, BiDir) I mentioned before (including additional signals and their timings, like STB, BUSY etc). You should know some more about that stepper board: does it follow LPT specifications, is it designed for usage with PC LPT port, has it hardware support for one of LPT protocols etc. Or is it just a simple board with eight input signals which has nothing with LPT? Regards, Oleg |
