I installed a lot of inverters (the common name for variablke speed AC motor controllers) and found a few facts
for 400V operation most suppliers use 1200V IGBTs WRONG, you need 1500V or you will occasionally (say one a year of 10 units) blow an inverter. ABB had the best prices for 1500V IGBT equipped inverters at that time, I do not know if that is true today. Erik |
