a 24 volt starter that draws about 450 amps will kill two 8D 1200 cca batterys in about 5 minuites so 1100 amps should kill 4 every 5 minuites. Now james is talking about a 35 hp motor for each wheel or 8 batterys /5 minuits or 72 batterys per hour. these are the biggest regular equiptment batterys and weigh about 135 lbs. each. He will get more time out of the batterys but will need say 15 hp for mowers and 10 to15 for traction for a total of about 20 to 30 hp a practical mower of reasonable size so he could expect a realistic run time of two hours on a 72 battery bank that when I last priced them would cost about $157 cdn each and that is a lot price from a wholesale supplier say $11000 cdn plus a charging system and hydro bill to recharge them. Um this is probably not a cost effective plan.
