Thanks to you all for your suggestions.
I used the heatsink with heatsink compound.
But the problem was with the oscillator frequency of L297.
I replaced capacitor of 12pf with .0033mf.(as mentioned in the schematic)
The problem got solved. The temp. of L298 after 30 min. was 47 degrees.
Does anyone explain or suggest a literature about theory behind this?
