If you are going to the trouble to insert an LM50 chip into your design just to get a voltage proportional to temperature, which you must then mess around to getting through an A/D converter.......then I would like to suggest a much easier solution. Get yourself one of these: TMP100 This will install nearly as easily as the LM50 chip and then it takes only two lines, SCL and SDA into your microcontroller to get temperature readings with up to 0.25 degree resolution.
