This thread is a nice example, how complicate it can be to choose the 'right' components. In many instances it's the boss who tells you to use this LM35, ADC0804, analog mulitplexer and who specifies 'needed' precision. A boss who did in electronics the last time 15 years ago. I know these bosses: To tell them that there are better solutions today make them feel to be 'old' and 'unskilled', which can result in remarkable reactions...

So, sometimes it may be a good idea to make this LM35 to work, and if the solution might become unappropriate finally, then it's not you who are responsible for.

I didn't want to recommend the circuit of my last post against other concepts. It was more to demonstrate how much efforts have to be taken in order to get a rather unappropriate 'solution' to work...
