Before all of us start guessing your "identification" problem lets hear from you on the options below :

1. You will need to identify the type of component - whether it is a resistor or capacitor or inductor etc.

2. You will need to identify the location of insertion - but the component will be the same type ( resistor for instance )in all cases.

3. A combination of 1 & 2. ( both location and type are different )

4. Same as 3 but the same type can have different values.

Most times you get spot on answers if the problem defenition is good and clear.
