#80111 - RE: ICL7660 Output voltage drop at 8mA l

When you look at opamp circuit designs I would suggest that you investigate the FREE download of the LT-Spice package at:

http://www.linear.com/company/software.jsp

This is a very easy to use and learn simulator to check analog circuits. It has models in it for almost all Linear Technology OpAmps. I have used it to simulate circuit designs with LT parts and then found similar parts from other manufacturers to use as alternate sources of the components.

By the way.....any opamp that has a V+ pin and a V- pin but without a GND pin cannot tell whether it is connected to a dual supply or a single supply. Thus there is no real magic about single supply circuits versus dual supply circuits. All you have to really get used to is that in a single supply situation your "reference" point is not normally GND. (Do note that with some rail-to-rail type parts there are totally legitimate single supply circuit designs where the reference voltage of the amplifier may be close to the supply rail and not at 1/2 of Vcc at all) !!
