None of which tells us anything about the DIP switches!
What is the purpose of the DIP switches? As I said to you before, the 8051 already has a serial port built-in on the chip. Why can't you use that? What sort of "serial data" are you trying to read - is it synchronous, or asynchronous? For asynchronous, search for "soft UART" or "software UART" or similar; For synchronous, think about how you will detect the appropriate clock edge, and then sample the data... |
