#81831 - Field Probe.
Responding to: ???'s previous message
We have a scope probe we made for doing this.

Its the shape of a "?" mark, made in small, thin wall brass tube. A length of 50 Ohm coax- is threaded up the inside. The cable shield is terminated to the tube, and the cable core is connected to the brass tube, where the "curl" of the question mark almost touches the stem.

We find the small rigid end (its about 25mm x section) is ideal for poking around precisely.

Our tube isn't insulated on the outside, but that can be accomplished by stuffing it inside a piece of rubber pipe.

The cable is terminated into a 50 Ohm load

We also have a flat field probe, which is essentially a piece of PCB material, conencted to a scope lead.
