#82266 - RS485 Cable Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I've found that CAT5 cable works well. Shielded is always a good idea - depends on the site specifics. If you're running down cable trays in an industrial installation - shielding would be almost mandatory. In a household installation, one could get away with using unshielded. It is advisable to use a spare conductor as the 0V reference and the shield connects to equipment earth. I understand CAT5 cable as being 4pair unshielded used for 10/100BaseT networks. |
