I don't know why I hadn't thought of this before. I must have been too close to the problem. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll have that looked into ASAP.
One of the observations that I can't explain is why I don't seem to be able to read the IP register. Attempts to read it back, to confirm interrupt priorities, do not indicate that the command has been acknowedged. (i.e. I write 0x2 to IP and then read it back immediately and get 0x80) This is new hardware (an update of a previous design to deal with obsolesence) and my confidence in the hardare is not 100%. Do you have any trouble reading the IP register? Am I fighting a hardware problem? Thanks to all for your comments. |
