#85364 - Project ideas Responding to: ???'s previous message |
So while simply copying and translating the PIC prop-clock to '51 would perhaps be enough to fulfill the original project definition, perhaps all we agree, that this project needs some twist to be somewhat more innovative.
Let me give just a couple of ideas: - what about displaying not only hours and minutes, but also seconds, day/month/year, day-of-week. This could involve scrolling. - what about using bi-color (or even RGB) LEDs and try to display in color - possibly more than 3 (for RG)/7(for RGB). Even with single color, fade-in/fade-out effects can be nice. - two arms with LEDs in 180 degrees could provide additional resolution ("interlacing"), or 2-line messages cauld be displayed. - clock synchronisation to some standard. This was discussed many times; my favourite would be to decode a TV teletext top line; a hi-tech could involve some internet clock synch utility. - would a (TV-like) scanned laser beam projected to the wall be very off topic?
