#86784 - What I had in mind Responding to: ???'s previous message |
What I had in mind was using the external memory to hold the "icons". All the 8052 would do is route that information to a screen controller. The refresh rate doesnt haven to be very high at all, just enough so that the user presses an icon, and it responds, the data on the screen would be refreshed every so often. Resolution of a PDA would be about where I wanted to go.
I worked on a previous project using a BOB-III OSD module. It was fully text based , BUT it worked on a 6.4" LCD(RCA input). I could go that route and just make buttons on the side for the user to work with, but I need something that looks a little more professional than text. If you've seen a dvd player play music cd's, it has a basic, box shaped interface. A very simple GUI, thats what im looking for, just enough for the user to decide what box they want really. Also i've heard of using per pixel drawing on an LCD, but that the 8052 would get really bogged down. Any experience with that? |
