That makes sense.

I was just suggesting something that he could look into. My understanding is that his lcd_write routine works for other text (including "HI"?) that he writes with printf. Looking at what's working and what's not working the only thing that really jumped out at me was the potential difference in memory type. But I agree that if the character is being pased value (as it would appear to be) then it shouldn't matter where it came from.

Maybe the buffer that printf is trying to use doesn't exist? Perhaps it's locating the printf buffer in XRAM and perhaps his project doesn't have XRAM?

Who knows. We're speculating until Kaiwalya comes back with more information.
