I would have thought that if you were simply "testing" the comms and the protocol between the 2 uC's that you would have been fine with no level connvertors. simply make one a DTE and the other DCE at TTL (or whatever voltage your 2 uC run at) and your done.
On the other hand if this was a "production" unit with a cable between the two uC's who knows what could happen, in this case I would take more care and make sure the thing was bullet proof with lots of buffering and protection. Marshall |
