I did work some years ago with LabView on XP, but I needed to install a LPT driver in order to do work my project I though we were talking about COM ports (ie, RS232, Async serial) - not LPT (ie, printer/parallel). Was this to do with some sort of licence key/dongle thingy? Or is there something else you're not telling us? it does not be necessary on windows me or 98. That is certainly true of the Keil LPT-port dongle, but I don't see what it has to do with Hypoterminal and the COM port(s)?! Have someone tried using HyperTerminal on xp, and do it usefully? Yes, I have used the Hyperterminal on XP (a laptop and a desktop; "real" COM ports and USB-to-serial adaptors) with no more problems than would normally be expected of Hypoterminal... I previously used Hypoterminal on Win-98SE and, if anything, the XP version is slightly improved; eg, it no longer has the pointless restriction of only handling COM1-COM4, and it won't let you change the settings and then forget to apply then by disconnecting & re-connecting. |
