Some UARTS on Mainboard need this connection I don't believe that this is true - but I could be wrong. As I understand it, this has nothing at all to do with the hardware (mainboard or UART); it is entirely under software (eg, Hypoterminal) control. Anyway, a loopback test would still answer the question! |
