Nobody said that your post does not answer Rahul's specific question of how to jump out of his loop.

What we are saying is that Rahul's idea of jumping out of his loop is a very bad one.
It is Rahul's who needs to re-think his code so that he doesn't need to kludge it!

In fact, we now know that all he's trying to do is put line-breaks into a stream of text sent to a printer:

Messing about with timer interrupts is certainly not a good approach to that!
