While I agree with most of what Russel said, I must state, that '51 is not a typical accumulator-based architecture, as we know it from i8080, 6800 and they ancestors. But the comparison, x86.vs.68k, probably quite holds. Nevertheless, I personally consider '51->avr conversion far more viable than avr->'51... Jan Waclawek |
