When the drive is hooked up to a DC power source, it appears that it's sinking around 450-500mA during startup, then it goes down to around 200 or 250mA when it's operating. At least that's what I recall it being around the last time I tested it. I can't really find anywhere on the spec sheet that says how many amps the drive requires.
I'm also not sure how many amps the chip/board is able to source either. That will be something that I will try to look into. I hope I said all of that right, I'm more of a software person than a hardware person. Thanks for the reply. |
