#89448 - SDCC works very will for me.
Responding to: ???'s previous message

I used the Dunfield C for a long time, then I decide to try SDCC.
Vast inprovement. We purchase a copy of Bipom IDE for use with the dunfield. now bipom has a setup to use SDCC with the same editor.
http://www.bipom.com/sdcc.shtm

I realy like the editor.

I second Andy when he suggested getting to know the processor and the launguage. I spend weeks going over the datasheet for the first atmel processor I got. Also, I am not an Assembly programer but, I found the knowing some assembly is necessary for these processors. In C you can add asm by using the ASM command. Also I you are coming from a C on the PC like micro visual C or Borland, keep in mind these device are very stripped down from those monstrosities. Notice there is no C++ for these devices, just C.
