I'm going to agree with Don on this one.
I know that people that use SDCC are quite passionate about it, so I won't bag it too much. There seems to be a single point overlooked, however, in most SDCC discussions. That is that SDCC is just a compiler. It's not a development system with a productivity focussed IDE, integrated debugger, and a super set of manuals that will help you get started and help you out in almost any situation...but just a compiler. If you're pushed for time Ria, don't waste another second. Get hold of a professional development environment yesterday, and make sure it has a comprehensive manual with a good 'Getting Started' section. For my money, 'Siege Heil' C is the only way to go.
