#89476 - Try USB.org Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The developer forum on USB.org is very helpful (well, the people are helpful, the forum itself is a little goofy... but I digress).
Actually, this part you are looking at is interesting. I've had to do a USB device with a Philips USB controller that was I2C (bit-banged no less) and it was a pain. SPI would be a luxury by comparison! You really need to start at the basics of USB if you really want to roll your own. The Jan Axelson book is as good a start as any. Regarding USB to serial, one of this BBS's commercial sponsors (Cygnal?) has an ad for it on the left column... Also, these off-the-shelf converters that Erik was talking about can be had for $10 to $50, depending on how much searching you want to do. Finally, Cypress has a functional USB-to-serial reference design that is a little bit "light-weight", but works. GB |
