The SiLAbs IDE is NOT Keil Based. The SiLabs IDE is an independent software product developed and maintained by people at SiLabs.
The SiLabs IDE can be easily setup to work with any of the major 8051 C / Assembler tool sets. As a matter of fact there are App Notes at the SiLabs web site that tell you how to setup the IDE for working with Dunfield, Keil, SDCC, and Raisonance. When you purchase a SiLabs Software Development / Evaluation board it comes with a CD that has a copy of the SiLabs IDE on it and an evaluation copy of the Keil tool chain on it. When you use the default setup on the CD it will install the SiLabs IDE and the eval copy of the Keil tool chain and set the install config of the IDE to point to the Keil tool set. Michael Karas |
