#91168 - Similar Opinion Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I have a similar reaction to the SiLabs Tool as does Erik. I find it hard however to see the real division between IDE and DEBUGGER. If one took away the IDE part that deals with project builder and editor functions there would not be much DEBUGGER left!! Now consider the DEBUGGER stuff. I find many parts of the way the DEBUGGER works just plain arcane, difficult, and buggy.
One is really, in the long run, probably better off using the Cygnal/SiLabs debugger DLL that adapts the interface of the JTAG port debugging feature to the Keil uVision II environment. I have not used this extensively yet but it appears to "work". I have used the Keil debugger, in the simulator mode, quite a bit and it is leaps and bounds ahead of the way the Cygnal/SiLabs debugger user interface works. Michael Karas |
