#91985 - The real pain of mixed Responding to: ???'s previous message |
What are the experiences, caveats?
Just came to think of it The real pain of mixed is that you have both +5 and +3.3 to route. One extremely dense board went to 6 layers for that reason. When there is room enough my layout person have used a method of locating the 5V parts (mostly interfaces) at the edge of the board and making the 3.3 volt "framed" by 5V in layer3. like this ++++++++++++++ +000000000000+ +000000000000+ +000000000000+ ++++++++++++++where + is 5V layer3 and o is 3V3 layer 3 Erik |
