#92436 - amateurs and pros
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Dear friends: this is not about you pre se, it is about the typical results of design contests.

I was thinking that maybe there should be a 8052 design comp

It is interesting to note that AVRFREAKS www.avrfreaks.net have quite a few project submissions whereas here has few. Why is this so?

You will get the best designs made by amateurs. Very few pros have/will take the time to participate in a design contest in order to collect some small honor or a modest amount.

There have been posts here with links to "excellent sites" for designs and when the pros have had a look, error upon error has been found.

So, if you want a collection of designs by (mostly) bungling amateurs, make a contest.

Of course, another factor is that most work by pros is owned not by the pro, but by whoever paid for the code. So if a pro has made some "absolutely fantastic bordering on a miracle" code, he is most likely prohibited form publishing it.

Erik
