well, you think of something that's the opposite of "lawyer" without being offensive
That's dead easy, the difficult is to "think of something that's the same as "lawyer" without being offensive" Might I suggest that if you mean "competent" or "incompetent," that you use the words "competent" and "incompetent." lets try those words I know of a few competent amateurs and many incompetent professionals.
