#94401 - web link?-protection Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Andy,
You may want to check the web link again, I tried it and it came up as not available. Sun, Whether you are using +-12 or 0-12, keep in mind protectiing your A to D from over voltage. Check the absolute maximun input ratings and make sure your circuit can not exceed it by design or accident. Try typing "circuit protection" in the search box and you will probably find some related topics on this site. One lesson I learned the hard way early on. Start out with an op amp circuit with +-15V power supply. Have a feedback resistor with a bad solder joint. At some point, the resistor comes loose. Output of OP AMP goes to the rail (+15V). Output of the OP AMP is the input to the A to D with absolute maximum input rating or 5VDC BYE BYE CHIP!!! Good Luck Andy (PS, you don't have to be named Andy to respond to this thread:) |
