Depends on what size device you need,you can get the above mentioned altaer entry level fpga for as little as $20 and that will have a lot of logic to play with,however the newer ones have HUGE amounts of logic with built in multipliers phase locked loops serial interfaces,ethernet interfaces etc etc and as you can imagine they get very expensive.
