I havent ever had to use a level shifter with altera devices whereas you always need one with xilinx devices.
level shifters or not really is a matter of two things. a) noise margin can be severely limite when operating w/o a level shifter and b) operating w/o a level shifter means resistive pull-up and the associated increase of Tlh. I can easily believe that some 3.3 devices will be closer to the %V Vi specs than others and thus Jezs comment. Erik |
