#95750 - other controllers Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I found one thing: all the projects which I saw did not use any 8051 variant. They were using other controllers(AVR, PIC) or directly from PC's parallel port. Is there anything specific with that? I went through the datasheet and I found that 89s52 is perfectly suited for this application.
Might be worth checking the port IO structures: maybe they assume push-pull drivers, where you're using an open-drain pin? Remember that you need to write a '1' to an 8051 pin in order to be able to read its value... |
