A number of contributors have referred to the problem of malicious posting and "vandalism"
While this is undoubtedly a risk, I think the real problem with unmoderated posting is that you will inevitably get contributions that are just wrong, and/or dangerous - without any malicious intent eg http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=87978 http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=94534 Yes, I've even made posts myself that were wrong: http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=95112 There is already plenty of ill-informed and un-informed rubbish on the internet - do we want to add to it? Just my 2p. |
