#97281 - Yes, but where is the '51? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The story is: I responded to a request for AT89C51RC2 programmer, giving a link to Flip and pointing out that there is nothing special for it just a RS232 level convertor, see MAX232 datasheet. The OP (obviously newby) responded: OK thanks, but where is the programmer schematics? So I went to 8052.com for a nice picture to be surely found in FAQ or tutorials - and found - nada... OK searching forum, whole site - still nothing usable. Turned to google - zillions of links, but not a single stupid 51+Max232 only - except the one from PaulMon site I gave the link to. Oh yes, they are there on the devboards etc. but imagine thenewbie trying to figure out a 10+ ICs cluttered dagram, where that $&@* RD2 programmer is... So my idea is: - the very basic diagram, a 51+max232 - caveat for D-SUB9 male-female and cables (straight/crossed) differences - mention clones plus caveat for clone with different polarity C's - mention low-cap clones and the pumpless too (a good table comes handy, we just searched for 1Mbit capable devices, preferrably pin-compatible...) - mention handshake lines All at one place, 8052.com.
