#97924 - How many LEDS Responding to: ???'s previous message |
If you want to drive 2 or 3 LEDS CPU will work great.
For example typical AT89C2051 can sink 20 mA per pin. But for more LED you need an interfejs. Great for 8-LEDS is ULN2803A from Texas Instruments it can Drive 8 outputs (darlington open colector transistors) with 500mA and 50V. It has TTL (0-5V) inputs. Try it great and simply all you need is this IC CPU and LEDS with little resitors depend from supply. You can drive some serial connected LEDS for example : 3 with 12VDC. You can make some section to drive LEDS and Rail in the same IC. As you know CPU need near 5VDC or lower. |
